VPON has a built-in mini web server providing real-time video capture and streaming over network. It grabs any footage, compresses it, and then transmits it to your PC for viewing through the Internet, Intranet, or direct dial-up modem connection via a telephone line.

WHICH NETWORK ENVIRONMENTS ARE SUPPORTED?

VPON supports up to three network environments: Internet, Intranet, and Direct Dial-Up. By using a standard web browser, VPON can stream real-time video to a PC via any of these connections.

VPON is a self-contained device with everything you need to get you up and running in the LAN mode. An RJ-45 network connection is supplied, so all you have to do is plug the power and a video feed in and assign an IP address to the unit. If a PSTN connection is desired, an external modem option must be purchased to use the COM port mode.

The number of users accessing a VPON at the same time varies from different products. LAN or Internet bandwidth is one of the most important factors that limits the number.In general condition,15 to 20 is a reasonable number.

HOW MANY VPON's CAN A USER BROWSE AT THE SAME TIME?

CAN I USE VPON FOR VIDEO CONFERENCING?

VPON is designed for remote surveillance applications. Video conferencing is NOT an application support by VPON although VPON can do two way video and audio transmission.

With a outdoor camera and a proper weatherproof enclosure, you can use VPON for outdoor surveillance.

DO I NEED TO INSTALL ANY SOFTWARE OR CONFIGURE ANY CLIENT/SERVER SYSTEM?

No more software or hardware modifications are needed to view your video feed through the Internet or LAN. Make sure the OYO Viewer software is installed on your remote system for point-to-point communication with your VP200 unit.

CAN I CHANGE THE HOME PAGE THAT APPEARS TO USERS ON THE NETWORK?

Yes. You can change the title banner on the home page by yourself. Save the changes to the FLASH ROM and reboot your VPON unit.

HOW IS THE CONFIGURATION OF VPON DONE?

VPON supports IrDA remote controller or mouse operation mode. You can use either one to do configuration locally. You can also login in from remote using Micro Soft Internet Exploer to do that.But you will need administrator name & password.

DOES VPON WORK WITH ALL BROWSERS?

It is recommended to use Microsoft IE 6.0 up for better performance. MAC or Linux users can use Netscape or MAC IE by clicking "View Video without plug in" at VPON main page.

HOW MANY COLORS DOES VPON SUPPORT?

VPON use 24-bits to display video. In other words, VPON displays 16,777,216 colors.

WHAT VIDEO CAMERAS CAN BE USED WITH A VPON UNIT?

Any standard NTSC or PAL composite camera can be used with VPON.

The remote Pan/Tilt/Zoom functions let you control the remote site video camera that connects to the VPON COM2 port. You can move the video camera UP, DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT. You can also ZOOM-IN and ZOOM-OUT. We support most well-known brands of PTZ cameras. The optional camera control box is also available from Aegis micro Inc.
